The website may still function and the brand may still be familiar, but neither quite captures the confidence, depth or direction of the business today. You can explain its value clearly in conversation, yet the public expression struggles to communicate the same conviction on its own.

That is where I begin. Before recommending a new visual direction or rebuilding the website, I step back and look at the whole business, helping you understand what has changed, what still holds value and what needs to be resolved before you invest in the next visible solution.
You may not need to start again
When a business has outgrown its brand, the instinct is often to replace everything.
A new name, identity or website can create momentum, but change made too quickly can also discard recognition, trust and character that have taken years to earn. Your history is not automatically a problem. Neither are the clients, services or visual elements that brought the business to this point.
The more important question is whether they still support where you are going.
I look carefully at what the business has already earned: the reputation people associate with it, the language customers respond to, the standards you protect, the parts of the experience people return for and the qualities that have become so familiar to you that you may no longer recognise their value.
Some elements may need to be strengthened. Others may need to be reshaped or released. The work is not about preserving everything or changing everything. It is about making deliberate decisions so the next version of the brand feels like an evolution of the business rather than a rejection of it.
Meet Annaliese
I am Annaliese van Oosterwijck, a brand strategist and the founder of The Feel Co.
I have spent more than 25 years working across branding and marketing, and that experience has taught me that the most obvious problem is rarely the complete one. A founder may arrive asking for a website, stronger copy or a new visual identity, but once I begin looking properly, the deeper issue often sits in the relationship between the business, its offers, the people it wants to reach and the experience it has grown around them.
My strength is seeing that bigger picture.
I notice connections between parts of the business that are usually treated separately. I can see when an offer problem is being mistaken for a copy problem, when the website is exposing decisions that have never been made and when a brand has lost sight of the qualities its customers value most.
My approach is intuitive, but it is not vague. I listen for the founder knowledge that has never been articulated, then test it against the business, the audience and the commercial direction. I want to understand not only how you would like the brand to feel, but what the business must communicate, what the customer needs to recognise and what the experience must deliver for that feeling to become believable.
I care deeply about language, visual expression and atmosphere because those things shape how people connect with a business. I care just as much about whether the offer makes sense, whether the customer journey supports the promise and whether the direction gives you greater confidence in the decisions that follow.
The Feel Co is intentionally close and personal. I remain involved from the first conversation through the strategy, message, creative direction, website and implementation, bringing in trusted specialists where the work requires them without handing the central thinking away.
You will not be taken through a formula designed to make every business arrive at the same polished conclusion. My job is to understand what is particular about yours, help you recognise what has become difficult to see and shape a brand that feels unmistakably connected to the business you have built.

My role is not to make you dependent on The Feel Co. You should understand the brand we have created, feel confident using it and retain ownership of the tools, knowledge and website needed to carry it forward.
At the end of the project, you receive a complete digital and printed handover suite, including your Brand Direction Book, a personalised Website Owner’s Guide and a practical Next Chapter Planner. Together, these documents explain the thinking behind the brand, how your website works and what needs to happen next, so the direction does not disappear once the project is complete.
You can manage the website and brand internally, engage another trusted person or continue working with me through optional ongoing support. The important thing is that someone remains responsible for it. Your business will keep evolving, and the brand needs regular attention if it is going to remain useful, coherent and in step with what you are building.
